Well, I drank the Kool Aid. I bought my first Mac. Computer crisis solved.
Reasons behind the Mac purchase? Several. There’s the horror stories I’ve heard from people who’ve upgraded to Vista, plus the random Windows error that always seems to pop up right in the middle of working on something yet always before you’ve had a chance to save your work, not to mention computer viruses, spyware (yes, I realize they exist for Macs, just not as prevalent as they are on PCs) and all of those other hassles that come with running Windows.
So far I’m loving the taste of this Mac Kool Aid. File transfers from the old laptop hard drive have been a breeze, there haven’t been any software compatibility issues yet except for one computer game that my daughter can still play on my wife’s laptop. Reloading the iPod was a bit of a hassle since I had to reformat it to Mac instead of Windows based, but it’s behind me now. I’ve got my mail setup, most of my old favorites saved, all of the peripheral messaging programs downloaded, I’m pretty much set to go.
Besides all that, I did a little tinkering with Garage Band as well. I’m getting the itch to try stretch my musical creativity again… I don’t think I can let Burrito Lady be my only attempt. Not that I expect to be the next Jonathan Coulton or anything, but it seems like a fun thing to try, especially since I’m going to have a week home alone sometime in the near future (more on that later).
Well, tis late. Not much of an update I know. Although with the computer sitchiashun all under control, I’m hoping to be able to focus on the tasks at hand.
As always thanks for stopping by, see you soon.
