Burrito Lady - free mp3 of my first original song!
Filed Under Audio, I Can Sing!, Me
Yes, I wrote a song. Not only did I write a song, I recorded it as well. The results are, well, to be expected from someone who’s never written or recorded a song before.
Technically I recorded it as an entry for the Weekly Challenge over at 100 Word Story Podcast, but I thought I’d put it up here as well for your listening pleasure (or displeasure, I make no claims of being musically gifted). Click the arrow for the streaming version or click the title to save a copy to your computer.
Better get it now before the RIAA comes down on me harder than a fat lady collapsing a plastic lawnchair for posting free music on the internet (I use the word ‘music’ loosely).
NOTE:: It has been brought to my attention that there is another song about the Burrito Lady by Kevin Trainor which appeared in a Chipotle radio spot. This isn’t it, although you can find a version of it over on this site.
I had never heard his song until I started seeing site hits for burrito lady song, so I did some googling and found the site mentioned above. His take on the Burrito Lady is much more politically correct (and more professionally done, I am by no means a musician), but it makes my heart happy to hear that someone else has deemed the Burrito Lady worthy of song.

Burrito Lady
Let me tell you about a woman I know,
She ain’t no model or runway queen,
You won’t find her on Cosmo or Glamour,
Or in the pages of Vogue magazine.
She wears a hairnet and plastic gloves,
She scoops the beans and rice all day,
She makes minimum wage (under the table)
Workin’ for the Chipotle.
She can’t speak a word of English
She calls the beans frijoles,
But you know what? That’s just fine by me,
I still love her anyways.
She’s my Burrito Lady
And she’s driving me crazy
Burrito Lady,
Make my burrito for me yeah.
Wow.

All this is is an extended version of “Burrito Lady” by Kevin Trainor.
Um…. who?
Can’t say I’m familiar with the man or his work, although I imagine the burrito lady is the subject of many songs. She is a temptress.
